Upgrading Your Plan

How do I upgrade from Free to Premium or Family Pro?

Log into your parent app, go to Settings β†’ Subscription β†’ Upgrade Plan. Choose Premium ($9.99/month) or Family Pro ($14.99/month). Your new features are available immediately after payment is confirmed. Annual plans (save 40%) are also available.

Will I be charged when my free trial ends?

No. You will not be charged automatically at the end of your 30-day free trial. We will send you a reminder email 3 days before your trial ends. You choose whether to subscribe β€” no credit card is required during the trial.

Can I upgrade mid-month?

Yes. Upgrading mid-month charges you a prorated amount for the remainder of your current billing period, then the full monthly amount from your next billing date.

Cancelling Your Subscription

How do I cancel my subscription?

Go to the parent app β†’ Settings β†’ Subscription β†’ Cancel Subscription. Your subscription remains active until the end of your current paid period. After cancellation, your account automatically moves to the Free plan β€” you don't lose access to your account or data.

What happens to my data when I cancel?

Your account, child profiles, and 30 days of history are retained on the Free plan. You will lose access to Premium features (location tracking, social monitoring, AI alerts) but core features remain available.

Can I pause instead of cancel?

Yes. From Settings β†’ Subscription β†’ Pause Subscription, you can pause billing for 1 or 3 months. Your account and data are preserved during the pause. This is useful for school holidays when you may not need full protection temporarily.

Refunds

What is your refund policy?

We offer a full refund within 30 days of any charge if you are not satisfied with GuardianShield β€” no questions asked. For annual plans, a prorated refund is available for any unused full months beyond the first 30 days.

How do I request a refund?

Contact our support team at billing@guardianshield.one with your account email and the reason for your refund request. Refunds are processed within 5–10 business days to your original payment method.

I was charged twice β€” what should I do?

This occasionally happens due to payment processor issues. Please contact billing@guardianshield.one with your account email and both transaction references. We will investigate and refund any duplicate charge within 2 business days.

Which payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Annual subscriptions can be paid by bank transfer β€” contact billing@guardianshield.one.

How do I update my payment details?

Go to parent app β†’ Settings β†’ Subscription β†’ Update Payment Method. Enter your new card details. Your next billing cycle will use the new payment method.

My payment failed β€” what happens?

If a payment fails, we retry automatically after 3 and 7 days. You will receive an email notification with a link to update your payment details. Your account remains active during the retry period. After 3 failed attempts, your account moves to the Free plan.
