iOS requires a profile: GuardianShield uses an iOS Supervised Profile for full protection. This is installed through the Settings app and cannot be removed by the child without your Parent PIN.
Download "GuardianShield Parent" from the App Store on your own iPhone or Android. Open the app, create a free account, and verify your email. This is your control centre for all your children's devices.
On your child's iPhone or iPad, open the App Store and search for "GuardianShield Child". Install the app and open it. You will see a pairing screen β do not create a new account here.
The child app will prompt you to install the GuardianShield Supervision Profile. Tap Install Profile β this opens your iPhone Settings. Go to Settings β General β VPN & Device Management, find the GuardianShield profile, and tap Install. Enter the device passcode when prompted. This is required for content filtering to work on Safari and all other browsers.
In your parent app, tap "Add Child", enter your child's details, and note the 6-digit Family Code that appears. On your child's iPhone, enter this code in the GuardianShield Child app and tap Connect. Both apps will confirm the connection.
The app will guide you to enable Screen Time on the child's device (Settings β Screen Time β Turn On Screen Time). Set a Screen Time Passcode that only you know. This allows GuardianShield to set app limits through Apple's official Screen Time API.
For GPS tracking, go to Settings β Privacy β Location Services β GuardianShield and select "Always". This enables live location updates and geofence alerts in your parent app.
iOS 17 note: Apple's iOS 17 introduced additional privacy prompts for location "Always On" access. Your child's iPhone may ask them to confirm location access. You must approve this as the device owner during initial setup.

The profile is locked with your Parent PIN. Attempting to remove it without the PIN triggers an immediate alert. If the device is fully reset (factory wiped), the profile is removed but you receive a device offline alert.
Yes. The Supervision Profile filters all network traffic from the device at the DNS/VPN level, so it works in every browser including Chrome, Firefox, and all in-app browsers β not just Safari.
