Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

GuardianShield collects the minimum data necessary to provide our parental monitoring service. We collect: parent account information (name, email, password hash), child profile information (name, date of birth, device identifiers), location data from child devices when location tracking is enabled, app usage data and screen time statistics, content filter event logs (URLs blocked — no page content), and alert event logs.

We do not collect or store the content of private messages, emails, or any private communications. All social media monitoring is performed on-device and only alert metadata (not content) is transmitted to our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information solely to: provide the GuardianShield monitoring and protection service, send push notifications and alert emails to parent accounts, generate activity reports and dashboards, improve product reliability and performance, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell your data to third parties, and we do not share your data with third parties except as described in Section 4.

3. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

GuardianShield is designed to be used by parents to monitor their minor children. We collect certain data from child devices as described above. This data is processed only on behalf of and at the direction of the verified parent account holder. We comply fully with the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and do not collect any data from children for our own purposes.

Parents have the right to review all data collected from their child's device, request correction of any inaccurate data, and request deletion of all data collected from their child's device. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@guardianshield.one.

4. GDPR (European Users)

For users in the European Economic Area, the legal basis for processing is: contract performance (providing the service you subscribed to) and legitimate interests (service improvement and security). You have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data. You may also object to processing or request restriction. To exercise any GDPR right, contact privacy@guardianshield.one. We will respond within 30 days.

5. Data Retention

Activity logs are retained for 30 days (Free/Premium) or 90 days (Family Pro). Account data is retained until account deletion. Deleted account data is purged within 30 days.

6. Security

All data is transmitted using TLS 1.3 encryption and stored using AES-256 encryption at rest. We conduct annual third-party security audits. We maintain SOC 2 Type II certification.
